We made a Mexicali pizza wheel today. We made a dough with yeast and put it in the refrigerator to make it rise. On the second day, we cooked grounded meat with garlic, tomato sauce, some spices, and beans. After that, we cut the middle of the dough by a star, and T shape. We put the meat mixture, some Maxican peppers and cheese and we folded the middle. It looked really good but it tested like nothing. If I were to make this recipe again, I would put more spices, peppers, and more salt.

#12 Doughnuts
I was so excited about this recipe and was hoping to see really good doughnuts like they have at Tim Horton's. The first thing we did was making a dough. We used yeast, flour, and water to make the dough. We put it in the refrigerator for a day to make it rise. On the second day, we cut the dough out of the doughnut cutter and we deep- fried them. It was our first time deep-frying things in our baking class so it was really fun. After, we dipped them into the vanila mixture and chocolate mixture and sprinkled them with some coloured sugar. It was really fun to make doughnuts. The only thing I did not like about was the sugar we used for sprinkles. Otherwise, it was really good.
#11 Cream puffs
This is one of my favourite recipes! I was so excited to make cream puffs and could not wait to eat them! This time, we made our dough differently. We put flour, margarine, egg and vanila together on the heat and stirred it until it formed a dough, instead of cutting fat into dry ingredients. Then, we placed a spoonful of each on the cookie sheet and baked them. After the dough was ready, we made a whole on each puff and put whipped cream inside. We drizzled the melted dark chocolate on the top which made it look really great. The cream puffs we made tested so good and I want to make it again!
#10 Apple pie
Today we made an apple pie. We cut the apple into slices and boiled with the sugar, cinnamon, and water. We made a dough by cutting fat into it. Then, we rolled it out and placed it on the pie plate and filled it with the apple filling. We got a perfect golden brown on the top and it tasted so good. I don't really like apple pies but this one was really good because our dough turned out very good: nice golden brown crust.
#9 Peach Cobbler
We made a peach cobbler. We mixed suger with the canned peach and put it on the bottom of the casserole dish. We made a dough and then covered the peach mixture with the dough on the top. I had never tried this before so it was very new for me. I really liked it and it was sweet.
#8 Pizza Scones
This is the first product we made for the biscuits unit. We sauted onions with margarnine and brown sugar and made the dough by cutting fats into the dry ingredients. We put the toppings including the onion mixture, green peppers, olives, pepporoni, and some cheese. I did not like the taste of the onion mixture because it was too sweet that it did not taste like a pizza. If I were to make this again, I would not add suger while sauting the onions. Otherwise, it tasted good and was fun and easy to make.

#7 Healthy Cookie Challenge - Coconut Banana Cookies
This lab was a " healthy cookie challenge". Each group had to change some parts of the recipe to make more healthy, nutritious, and delicious cookies. My group reduced the amount of fat and put yogurt to replace the fat. To reduce the sugar, we used brown sugar and mushed bananas. We also put oatmeal, coconut and chopped walnuts. We combined butter, yogurt and sugar together. Then we put all the dry ingredients and the liquid ingredients together in a separate mixing bowl and then mixed them together. It looked really tasty but when I ate it, it felt like it was too dry and it just tested like bananas. Next time, I would put less bananas and more coconut. This lab was really exciting and challenging because we could make our own "healthy cookies".
#6 Creative Lab : Hazelnuts Cookies
We had to choose our own recipe. My partner and I chose this "Hazelnuts cookies" recipe. The special ingredients of this recipe were almond extract and hazelnuts. We chopped hazelnuts and mixed them with the cookie dough to give the cookies hazelnut flavour. We also made icing with icing sugar and margarine and put the almond extract to make the cookies more flavourful. The almond extract also made a strong smell. I really like the taste of it and the smell. I would add more milk and put some chocolate chips next time because it was not sweet enough and too dry.
#5 Applesauce Brownies
Half of the class made regular brownies which contain a lot of fat and sugar. The other half of the class, including my group made applesauce brownies. This recipe called for applesauce to reduce the large amount of fat and sugar. We sprinkled the top with some chocolate chips and some chopped nuts and it looked really good after it was baked. We compared each other's brownies and most of the class voted for this applesauce brownies because it was less sweet and more healthy. I liked it because it was very soft.Even though there was a small amount of suger it was still sweet and tested good
#4 Flood Cookies
This lab was a three-day lab. We had to make a cookie dough and cut the cookies out of it using cookie cutters. We decorated the cookies with two kinds of icing: thick icing and thin icing. Cutting out the cookies with cookie cutters was really fun and it was very nice to see all the different shapes of cookies. My favourite part of this lab was decorating cookies. We put the thick icing on the edges of the cookies and then spread the thin icing on the middle. We also used sprinkles to make them more 3D looking. They tested so good and I would like to try this recipe again!

#3 Marshmallow Fondant Layer Cake
We spent almost a week on this recipe because we had to bake the cake, make icing, melt marshmallow, make a fondant, and decorate the cake. It was my first time making fondant and decorating the actual layered cake, so I was really excited. We melted marshmallow and we mixed it with icing sugar, and we kneaded it so it looked like a bread dough. I put the butter cream icing to make the cake stick to the cardboard base before I started the actual decoration. Then I put one cake and put the butter cream layer, and then put the other cake. Decorating was the most exciting part of this lab. We rolled out the fondant dough and put it on the cake. We also made a bow and a ribbon with the extra fondant dough. I didn't really like this cake because it was too sweet but making fondant and decorating the whole cake with icing cream and fondant was a very exciting experience.
#2 Ice Cream Cupcakes
This recipe is the one of my favourite recipes. I loved the icing and the colour and I loved how sweet it was. We made icing and put the colour into it;our group's was pink.We put the bigger sized cupcakes on the bottom and then put the mini cupcakes. We covered them with coloured icing and made sure that we smooth the surface so that they would look like real ice cream. It was really fun to make those and they tested really good. I would like to make this recipe again!
#1 Ultimate Valentine Cake
We baked a cake onValentine's Day. It was the first time we baked in this class. It was really fun. We used egg yolks instead of fat since it was supposed to be a foam cake. We used a heat shaped pan, and we also melted chocolate chips to decorate the cake with chocolate dipped strawberries. We covered the cake with whipping cream, put the strawberries on the edge, and we wrote Happy Valentine's Day! with extra chocolate on the top of the cake. It looked so pretty and delicious but when I actually tested it, it was bit different than what I had expected. It was kind of too dry and not so sweet. We didn't add enough suger into whipping cream so it just tested like milk, was not sweet. If I were to make this recipe again, I would add more suger into whipping cream and make sure that the cake isn't dry.
